Our first 3 Project Connect shows were a smashing success!
The inaugural event showcased the transformative power of music in uniting communities and uplifting spirits.
In May 2024, Brasilanova’s hypnotic rhythms brought the Mizell Center to life. The Bossa Nova beat swept the crowd into an impromptu conga line, filling the space with joy. But the connection didn’t end when the music stopped. Guests turned to each other, sharing genuine emotional bonds and newfound friendships. Together, they laughed, shared reactions, and enjoyed delicious treats—all brought together by the power of music. The energy was repeated and amplified when A Cabbello and the Mizell Center presented a fall 2024 and spring 2025 Project Connect show of Keep Calm & Sing On!

The Surgeon General’s recent advisory on epidemic of loneliness, identified profound health risks associated with feeling isolated and disconnected from our community:
· Making our hearts, bodies, minds & immune systems weaker
· Can be as deadly as smoking 15 cigarettes per day
· 30% increased risk of heart attack, stroke, or death
In response to the call for action, A Cabbello’s Project Connect is taking bold steps to address this issue head-on.
Together, we have the opportunity, the responsibility, and the ability to invest in creative opportunities that foster social connection—ultimately improving the health and well-being of our community.
