SAVE THE DATE: NOVEMBER 20, 2024

Cheerio! Bust out the bangers and mash because ‘Bello is going Brit! That’s right, we’re bringing the best of UK pop music to the heart of PSP. Keep Calm and Sing On is our swinging seasonal program and it’s coming to the Cascade Lounge in Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs. Mark your calendars with a sassy Union Jack: Wednesday, November 20th from 7-8:30pm. If you arrive fashionably early, you can mix it up with the blokes of A Cabbello! Doors open at 6pm, hearts open all night long.

This show represents the ABCs of British music – we’re talking Adele, Beatles, Cat Stevens, and more, more, more galore! We’re summoning the pop perfection of One Direction, The Spice Girls and Robbie Williams. Swoon to the mod melodies of Dusty Springfield, Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark. And mingle with true icons like Elton John, Sting, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. No “pressure,” but book your tickets early!

OUR FIRST PROJECT CONNECT SHOW WAS A HUGE HIT!

“Music is healing. Music holds things together.”

–Prince

You’re never alone when there’s a song in your heart. This is the guiding principle of Project Connect, an outreach program that brings the music of A Cabbello directly to those who need it most. We’re combating isolation by offering free concerts… as well as hugs. We’re thrilled to announce that our inaugural show was a heartwarming, harmonious hit! Enthusiastic guests filled the Mizell Center before being whisked away to Brasilanova: the magical, musical realm at the center of our program. Fans cheered, bonded, and even broke into an impromptu conga line to the rhythm of our Bossa Nova sounds. Connection: accomplished! Just take it from Ector Simpson, Director of Operations, Programs & Community Engagement at the Mizell Center:

“Thank You! Thank You! There are ‘many moments’ at Mizell but some stand out as truly exceptional! Today’s concert was one of those moments. A Cabbello should be very proud of today’s contribution to the community!”

– Ector Simpson, Director of Operations & Community Engagement, Mizell Center

Our next Project Connect event is November 23rd and – spoiler alert – we’re already so excited to see you back at Mizell!

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Hot enough for ya? Some of our BelloGents beat the heat and brought the beat… to Minneapolis! It was a Gala Choruses festival triumph for Modern Men and PSGMC. Both groups brought audiences to their feet, earning standing ovations from fellow performers from around the world. Emotions flowed, voices soared, and hearts warmed – what a wonderful occasion!

Shout Out for A BelloGent

Let’s all give a cacophonous congrats to Daniel Stewart, one of our amazing Baritones. He took home the Talent Achievement Award for Vocals in the McCallum Open Call Talent Project, a Coachella Valley wide competition crowning the region’s best and boldest. Win-win-grin!

GLAD Tidings

A society is only as strong as its most marginalized group. To ensure that equality has its day in court, our friends at GLAD (GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders) are hosting a vital town hall at the Mizell Center on Monday, September 30th. After a casual reception at 5:30, legal and human rights experts will start their presentation at 6pm. This is an informational, empowering exploration on how LGBTQ+ citizens can preserve our rights in the face of anti-gay initiatives.

A Cabbello is proud to raise our collective voice and spread the word about the essential work that GLAD is doing. They are our community partners and this event is a fantastic introduction to their consideration and compassion. We sincerely hope to see you there.

Music Has a Magical Way of Bringing Us Together

As we begin our A Cabbello 2024-25 season of Joy, Connection and Music-making, our BelloGents are thrilled to be back together rehearsing legendary, iconic, and timeless hits from the British Pop Music canon. We’re having a blast and building deep connections to the music and to the community.

“I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.” -David Bowie

David Bowie’s quote reflects the adventurous and unpredictable nature of British pop music, where innovation and creativity are always at the forefront. It’s a wonderful way to set the tone for our upcoming fall show, which celebrates the richness and diversity of the artists and music that make up the British Pop music catalog.

We can’t wait to share this journey with you, where every note, beat, and melody combines to create unforgettable moments of joy, sadness, wonder, and excitement!
