Since moving to Palm Springs, he has taught elementary general music and directed middle and high school choruses. He earned his BFA in Music Education at Florida International University, and after a few years of teaching, he earned his MA in Classics at University of Kentucky. There he pursued his love of music theory and history as well as for Latin and Greek literature. Also passionate about music pedagogy and development, RJ is exceedingly grateful to the outstanding music teachers in his life from elementary to high school and in college. Through their efforts, he discovered a passion for making music and for how music is made. RJ is especially passionate about the Bellos’ mission to fight the epidemic of loneliness in our community and to bring live music to our neighbors.
